The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver.  You cannot read this masterful novel and remain unchanged.  It is set in the Congo (currently Zaire) in 1959 and is the story of a family that journeys to Africa to serve as missionaries.  The story is told by the wife and four daughters of fierce, evangelical Baptist, Nathan Price.  It is an epic of tragic undoing and political upheaval.  This would be a wonderful reading group selection.  Recommended by Nancy.
